Product description
This voice recorder module enables simple voice and sound recordings in electronics projects. The device records through its integrated microphone, stores up to 20 seconds of speech or other sounds, and then plays them back through the built-in speaker. It only requires a power supply between 4.5 and 5.5 V, which can easily be powered by the same power supply or battery pack as the control system.
Control is handled via four digital pins: one for recording, one for playback, and two for function sequencing and status feedback. Since only digital signals are required, the module connects directly to common microcontroller boards. The microphone captures signals in analog form; the internal electronics digitize them at 8 kHz and store them in mono.
In projects, the module can be used for talking robots or warning devices that play a recorded message when an event occurs. Interactive art installations and games can also benefit from the ability to capture visitors' speech and play it back later in modified form. The small memory and limited quality make the module unsuitable for music or long speeches; it excels at short, repeated announcements.
Recordings are stored in internal RAM, not on a memory card. This means all recordings are lost if the power fails, and only one recording can be stored per power cycle. The module itself is sufficient for operation, but it requires an external power supply and a connection to a control board with available output pins.
Safety notice
The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, and is not suitable for installation in household electrical wiring. Make sure the power supply polarity is correct.
