Information about electrical and electronic equipment

Proper and environmentally friendly disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment is also an important issue for us. We would therefore like to provide information below about the various disposal options, with the aim of ensuring the sustainable return of raw materials.

How do I know whether waste electrical or electronic equipment is covered by the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)?

Electronic devices placed on the European market must be marked with the symbol of the “crossed-out wheeled bin.”

The symbol of the “crossed-out wheeled bin” informs end consumers that waste electrical or electronic equipment must be disposed of separately from household waste, not with it.

Information about the take-back obligation for waste electronic equipment (waste electrical and electronic equipment disposal)

As a distributor of electrical and electronic equipment, Funduino GmbH is legally obligated to take back waste equipment. You can find out the quantities of waste equipment that Funduino GmbH is obligated to take back from the “Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register” (EAR).

When purchasing an electronic device in one of the following categories, you can arrange for free collection of your waste equipment:

  • Category 1 (ElektroG) – Heat exchangers (e.g., air-conditioning equipment)
  • Category 2 (ElektroG) – Screens, monitors, and equipment containing them, with a surface area of more than 100 cm²
  • Category 3 (ElektroG) – Large equipment (applies if one dimension—length, width, or height—of the product is >50 cm)

If contamination poses a risk to human health and safety, we reserve the right to refuse acceptance.

Please note that old batteries, rechargeable batteries, and lamps must be removed from waste equipment before it is returned, insofar as this is possible without destroying the equipment.

Funduino GmbH is registered with the “Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register” (EAR) under WEEE registration no. DE 28661619.

If you wish to dispose of waste electronic equipment, please contact us. Please observe our privacy policy. In general, we recommend refraining from affixing personal data to the waste equipment. Please therefore ensure that no personal data can be found on the waste equipment.

In principle, all distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are obligated to take back waste electronic equipment.

Returning equipment is not always necessary

As an online shop for microelectronics and accessories, among other things, it is particularly important to us to point out that returning waste electronic equipment is not always necessary. Many electronic components can be reused, and many “defective” devices can be repaired with just a few simple steps.

If you need help repairing an electronic device, we recommend the “Repair Initiative Network” (https://www.reparatur-initiativen.de/orte).
