Product description
This expansion module adds a two-axis joystick with two integrated push buttons to Arduino boards. The shield sits on the I/O pins of the Arduino UNO and immediately provides what game controls, robot movement, or camera movement require: an X axis and a Y axis for continuous position values, as well as two buttons for discrete commands.
The two joystick axes provide analog values between 0 and 1023, which the program reads and processes. The two buttons add control functions such as a fire button or a switching command. Since four of the Arduino's six analog inputs are used, the fifth remains available for additional sensors.
Applications range from simple games via a serial interface to controlling a robotic arm with two degrees of freedom or camera movement along two axes. Controlling LEDs or servos that follow the joystick positions can also be programmed easily.
The Arduino UNO's own power supply is sufficient for operation; a power adapter is not required. The necessary software can be created using the standard Arduino development environment. No specialist electronics knowledge is required, although basic Arduino programming experience significantly speeds up the project.
Safety information
The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. It is not suitable for installation in household power circuits or other electrical systems. If you have questions about compatibility with the Arduino board being used or about electrical specifics, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
