Product Description
The R385 is a self-priming diaphragm pump for voltages between 6 and 12 V DC. An electric motor drives a flexible diaphragm via an eccentric cam, alternately drawing in and expelling liquid. Since no rotating parts operate directly in the liquid, the pump handles minor contamination well.
The self-priming function allows the pump to start even when the intake hose is initially filled with air. Manual priming before operation is not required. With a flow rate of 1 to 3 liters per minute and a maximum delivery head of 3 meters, the pump is suitable for small to medium liquid volumes in compact systems.
The motor requires more current when starting than the digital outputs of microcontroller boards can provide. It must therefore be controlled via a relay or a dedicated motor driver module connected between the control board and the pump's two blade terminals. This allows you to build automatic irrigation systems, small aquariums, or water circuits for cooling projects.
The pump can handle water as well as other liquids within the specified temperature range. A critical point is continuous operation without a liquid supply, which can cause diaphragm and motor damage. The pump requires a separate power supply and a relay or motor driver module for control.

It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, and is not designed for installation in the household electrical circuit.
