Product Description
The double gripper is a pneumatic manipulator end effector for robots and lightweight robots. Two parallel-operating gripper arms enable simultaneous gripping or, alternatively, asynchronous movement of both arms. Control is provided via two separate compressed-air connections, allowing each arm to be controlled individually.
The gripper operates using compressed-air cylinders that move the gripper arms when pressurized (6 bar nominal). Each arm develops up to 10 newtons of gripping force, enabling the safe handling of light to medium-weight parts in robotic applications. With a total weight of approximately 1.2 kilograms, it is light enough for use with lightweight robots and standard robot flanges.
Applications include automated assembly, material handling of lightweight components, and laboratory and demonstration projects. The gripper is particularly suitable for pick-and-place applications in which two components need to be moved simultaneously, such as sorting small parts in conveyor-belt simulations. The double gripper is also a commonly used component for educational and research projects involving robotic arms.
Operation requires a robot or manipulator with an M10 flange mount and an available pneumatic connection. Two solenoid valves for pressure control, a pressure regulator, and a compressed-air source are also required. For maximum service life, the compressed air should be filtered and oil-free. The gripper is designed for operating temperatures between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.
Safety Notice
The gripper is subjected to high forces when pressurized. Hands and objects must be kept out of the gripping area before pressure is applied. This product is intended exclusively for prototype construction, testing, and development purposes. When installing it on robots with higher safety requirements, a qualified electrician and the applicable safety regulations for robotic workstations must be consulted before operation begins.
