Product description
This soldering practice kit teaches the basics of soldering through a functional project. By building a digital clock, beginners learn to correctly place and solder individual components while also achieving an understandable end result. The project combines craftsmanship and electronics in a practical way.
The circuit board contains a quartz oscillator for time generation and the necessary counter and driver chips for the display. Those who are not yet familiar with soldering can practice on real contacts, learning to avoid solder bridges and recognize cold solder joints. The project requires no programming and works immediately after completion.
In an educational context, the kit is used to teach practical skills in electronics or electrical engineering classes. In private settings, hobbyists build the project to understand circuit logic. The clock is also specifically used for beginner training courses in workshops and makerspaces. As a craft project for many hours of assembly, it provides continuous engagement with immediately visible results.
A soldering iron, solder and a tip cleaner are required for assembly. Depending on the state of assembly, either the complete set of components must be obtained or prefabricated components must be completed. A supply voltage of typically 5 V or a suitable battery provides the power. The completed project is not suitable for continuous operation in damp or corrosive environments.
Safety information
Soldering involves temperatures above 350 degrees Celsius; touching the soldering iron or solder joint can cause burns. The kit is intended exclusively for educational workshops, hobby workshops, and testing and development purposes, and is not suitable for installation in household electrical systems. If you have questions about proper soldering or the power supply, consult a qualified electrician or an experienced electronics technician.
