Product Description
This soldering practice kit teaches the basics of soldering while building a functional LED hourglass. Beginners practice with through-hole components that require safe handling without putting expensive components at risk. The circuit board is already populated; only soldering and assembly are required.
The hourglass uses a row of LEDs that light up one after another to represent the passage of a set period of time. After soldering the connections, a battery holder for two AA batteries is installed, and the circuit then works without any other power supply. Assembly takes approximately one to two hours.
With the completed hourglass, practical applications include a kitchen egg timer, a study timer for schoolwork, or a game timer for board games. As a decoration with a lighting effect, the hourglass also fits well in a room or hobby area.
A soldering iron, solder, and solder wick are required for soldering. The exercise cannot be completed without these tools. The hourglass only visually shows the passage of time and does not replace a clock that displays the current time of day.
Safety Information
Soldering produces fumes, so good ventilation is required. This product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes in private or educational settings. It is not intended for installation in the household electrical circuit.
