Description
Grove - ADXL345 - 3-axis accelerometer
Description
Grove - ADXL345 is a small, thin 3-axis accelerometer with extremely low power consumption that enables high-resolution (13-bit) measurements of up to ±16 g. It measures static gravitational acceleration in tilt-sensing applications as well as dynamic acceleration resulting from motion or shock. Its high resolution (3.9 mg/LSB) enables measurement of tilt changes of less than 1.0°.
Power consumption is only 23 μA in measurement mode and 0.1 μA in standby mode. The low-power modes enable intelligent motion-based power management with threshold detection and active acceleration measurement at extremely low power consumption.
Several special sensor functions are available: Activity and inactivity detection detects the presence or absence of motion by comparing acceleration on any axis with user-defined thresholds. The tap-sensing function detects single and double taps in any direction. Free-fall detection determines whether the device is falling.
Based on the ADXL-345, this digital 3-axis accelerometer features excellent EMI protection.

What is Grove?
Grove makes connecting and experimenting easier and simplifies the prototyping process. No jumpers or soldering are required. More than 300 Grove modules have been developed, covering a wide range of applications and meeting a variety of requirements. Not only is the hardware open source, but the software is as well. We offer various Grove shields to enable connection to the Grove system with a range of microcontrollers.
