This goes with it
Description
Product Overview
- Axial fan with side outlet for 5 V operation
- Connection via JST-2P plug, directly compatible with common development boards
- Airflow for cooling or ventilation in enclosures and confined spaces
- Compact design due to the lateral exhaust direction
Product Description
A fan with a side outlet discharges exhaust air horizontally instead of axially toward the front. This allows it to be used in flat enclosures or wherever the front must remain unobstructed. The 5 V version runs directly from the power rail of an Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar board, without an external power supply or protective circuitry.
The JST-2P plug fits standard headers on common boards or requires only two wires for third-party connections. The polarity can be checked on a test pin before use. The motor is maintenance-free and does not require speed control if continuous operation is sufficient.
Typical applications include cooling power electronics in enclosures, ventilating sensor chambers, or relieving pressure in closed boxes. It can also be used as a continuous auxiliary air blower in experiments involving hot solder joints or for air circulation in larger DIY projects.
Operation requires only an available 5 V pin with a minimum current capacity; a current-limiting module is necessary only if the board cannot handle the output power. Maximum speed and airflow depend on the actual supply voltage and decrease when the voltage drops.
Safety Notice
The fan must not be connected to mains voltage and is intended exclusively for power supplied by development boards or laboratory power supplies. The device does not provide any shielding or safety function against injury. The product is intended for use in prototypes, test setups, and development assemblies; consult qualified electricians when installing it in permanently operated systems.
