Product Description
This miniature solenoid valve controls airflow through electromagnetic switching. When current flows, a coil moves a core that selectively connects a common pneumatic connection to one of two other connections. When de-energized, the valve assumes a defined resting position.
The valve requires an external power supply of 4.5 to 6 V. Its power consumption of approximately 1.02 W significantly exceeds the output capacity of microcontroller pins, so a transistor or MOSFET switching stage must be connected between them. When the coil is switched off, an induced voltage is generated and must be suppressed by a protection diode connected in parallel with the coil.
The valve can be used wherever air or low pressure needs to be deliberately redirected, including portable pneumatic pumps, simple automation systems, or compressed-air hobby projects. Its compact design allows installation even in confined spaces. The three plastic connections enable flexible tubing configurations for different air paths.
In addition to the valve itself, a power source within the specified range, a suitable transistor or MOSFET switching stage, and a protection diode are required. The valve is typically operated with compressed air or vacuum at low pressures.
Safety Information
Not intended for installation in household mains circuits. The transistor or MOSFET driver stage must be dimensioned so that the induced voltage generated when the coil is switched off is safely dissipated by the protection diode, preventing damage to downstream electronics. This module is intended exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development purposes.
