Product description

This electrolytic capacitor set provides basic equipment for circuit assembly during prototype development and everyday laboratory work. The 200 pieces are distributed evenly across ten standard capacitance values, covering typical filtering, buffering, and coupling tasks without the need for reordering.

Electrolytic capacitors store charge and release it again when needed. In power supplies, they smooth voltage spikes; in audio amplifiers, they decouple signal paths; and in digital circuits, they buffer supply voltages. The choice between 25 V and 50 V variants allows adaptation to the respective operating voltage, with a higher rated voltage providing a safety margin.

The set is suitable for building power supplies with discrete regulators, audio amplifier circuits, and digital circuits using single-board computers or microcontrollers. Even energy-harvesting circuits and simple signal converters have every commonly required value available.

Since electrolytic capacitors are polarized, the orientation must be correct: the longer lead connects to the positive potential, and the shorter lead to ground. At operating voltages significantly below the rated voltage, capacitors age more quickly; for a long service life, the actual voltage should be at least one third of the rated voltage.

Safety information

Electrolytic capacitors can rupture explosively under load transients. Reversed-polarity or overvoltage-stressed capacitors are particularly at risk and must be replaced before installation. The set is intended exclusively for assembling prototypes and test circuits. Work on or near electrical installations is reserved for qualified electricians; if anything is unclear, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
