Product description
The ceramic capacitor is used for voltage decoupling, high-frequency filtering, and as a buffer element in power supply circuits and signal processing applications. The 10 nF capacitance corresponds to the type designation 103 and is suitable for applications ranging from a few kHz to the tens-of-MHz range.
Due to its ceramic construction, the capacitor has low inductance and enables stable characteristics over a wide temperature range. Depending on the applicable datasheet, the maximum permissible voltage rating and capacitance tolerance must be observed. Placement directly at the power supply connection of the component it is assigned to significantly improves the filtering effect.
Common areas of application include decoupling microcontroller components and logic ICs, high-frequency filtering at signal inputs of amplifier circuits, and EMC filtering in power supplies. In oscillator circuits, the component also helps stabilize the oscillation frequency. For practical use, the datasheet of the capacitor being used is required to match the voltage rating, tolerance class, and temperature coefficient with the circuit requirements.
Safety information
Ceramic capacitors can burst if mechanically damaged or overloaded and may release sharp fragments. The component is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in household mains circuits.
