Product Description
This educational kit teaches practical soldering techniques by building a sound-controlled disco light system. The circuit detects sound signals using a built-in microphone and controls colored LEDs that light up in rhythm with the music.
The operating principle is based on amplifying audio signals, which trigger a threshold circuit and thereby activate the LEDs. The components are soldered by hand onto the pre-printed circuit board, requiring basic knowledge of how to use a soldering iron and solder alloy. Precision soldering is not required; the spacing between the solder points is generous.
The finished module is suitable for experiments with light synchronization, visualizing music sources in room discos, or as party decoration. With an operating voltage of 5 V, it runs on standard USB power supplies or four AA batteries, depending on the intended operating time and available space.
You will need a soldering iron (25 to 40 watts), solder, a fume extraction system or good ventilation, and approximately two to three hours of working time. The microphone sensor's datasheet is available online and explains its precise frequency response. The light effect is significantly weaker at ambient brightness levels above 300 lux.
Safety Notice
The device is intended exclusively for testing and development purposes and for building prototypes. When soldering with lead-containing alloys, ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhaling solder fumes. Not intended for connection to household electrical systems; work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians.
