Product Description
The DS18B20 is a digital temperature sensor that outputs temperature readings via a One-Wire interface. This allows multiple sensors to be connected to the same signal line, requiring significantly fewer connecting wires than analog sensors. The XH2.54 socket with three contacts connects the power supply, ground line, and signal line. Factory calibration eliminates the need for external calibration.
The resolution can be set via software between 0.5 °C and 0.0625 °C. If you need to balance accuracy and measurement time, you can adjust the resolution to suit the application. The sensor measures temperatures from −55 to +125 °C, making it suitable for room climate control, freezer monitoring, brewery and laboratory measurements, as well as temperature logging in transport containers.
The sensor operates with a supply voltage between 3.0 and 5.5 V, allowing it to be connected directly to common microcontroller boards. A pull-up line on the One-Wire signal line is required; 4.7 kΩ resistors are commonly used. At the highest resolution, a measurement takes a maximum of 750 milliseconds per reading.
Safety Notice
The sensor is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Integration into household installations or their power supply systems is not intended. When selecting the power supply and wiring the sensor, observe the selected operating voltage to prevent damage to the sensor or connected components.
