Product Description
A brushless speed controller regulates the speed of brushless DC motors by controlling their winding coils. This controller is designed for continuous loads of up to 16 A and accepts supply voltages from 2S to 4S lithium-polymer batteries, making it suitable for lightweight to medium-weight aircraft models, boats, and vehicles.
The BLHeli firmware allows the motor response, braking behavior, and direction of rotation to be adjusted using specialized software without hardware modifications. The controller receives its control signal via PWM input from a receiver or microcontroller board and delivers the requested power directly to the motor windings. An integrated protection circuit limits overload spikes and prevents the motor from stalling.
Applications include fast remote-controlled models such as racing drones or powerboats, where high speeds and immediate response to control commands are required. For static test setups for motor characterization, a simple PWM signal generator from an Arduino or function generator is sufficient.
The controller requires a separate receiver or control electronics that generate PWM signals. The connected motor must be rated for the set voltage. Larger motors drawing more than 16 A require a more powerful controller.
Safety Notice
Short circuits and reverse polarity will immediately damage the controller and the motor. The controller is not intended for installation in household power circuits and is exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. If you have questions about commissioning or power supply using high-voltage batteries, consult a qualified electrician before operation.
