Product Description
These 1000 yellow light-emitting diodes are designed for building signaling circuits, display panels, and learning projects. The standard 5 mm LED package with leads can be inserted directly into breadboards or soldered into circuits.
Each LED requires a forward voltage of approximately 2 V and draws around 20 mA. In practice, this means that a current-limiting resistor should be connected in series with each LED to limit the current and protect the LED from overload. Small circuits can be controlled via individual microcontroller connections, while larger arrangements require additional driver electronics.
In training and project environments, the LEDs provide visual feedback for measured values or process states. A common application is a signal light in counter or sensor projects, for example to make motion detection or brightness thresholds visible. Larger quantities are also used for simple display panels or when building prototypes for status indicators.
Operation requires a power supply whose voltage must be dimensioned appropriately for the selected circuit topology. Current-limiting resistors and, where applicable, driver modules for multi-digit or matrix-controlled arrangements must be purchased separately.
Safety Information
These LED components are intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. The components are not intended for installation in household mains circuits. If you have questions about safe dimensioning or correct connection to mains voltages, consult a qualified electrician.
