Product description
White LEDs in the standard 5 mm form factor provide the foundation for lighting projects in prototype development. The soldered wires enable direct connection to circuits without an additional socket. With a service life of approximately 100,000 hours, these diodes are suitable for continuous operation over extended periods.
Each LED requires a series resistor to protect against excessive current. With a typical 5 V power supply, this is usually between 150 and 220 ohms, depending on the desired brightness. The quantity of 1000 units covers projects ranging from individual status indicators to arrays with several hundred light points.
Illuminated display panels, status lights on test setups, display backlighting, and decentralized lighting for experimental setups are typical applications. This quantity can also be used to create appealing visual feedback in larger educational projects, such as a light matrix for visually debugging programs.
The polarity of the LED must be observed when soldering; the longer wire is the anode (positive), and the shorter one is the cathode (negative). In addition to the LED and series resistor, a suitable power supply is required depending on the circuit.
Safety notice
Observe the correct polarity of the LEDs when soldering. This product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. The material is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits.
