Frequently asked questions about Arduino in the classroom
Which Arduino learning kits are suitable for teaching and for beginners?
For getting started from grade 7, the Funduino Cube is a great fit: soldering, building and programming in one device. For group work, go for the Funduino Starter Kits with a printed workbook — 29 projects on 130 pages, structured for teaching and usable without prior knowledge. For project weeks, there are ready-made project kits such as a traffic light intersection or a color sorting machine.
Are there discounts for schools and class sets?
Yes. Educational institutions receive up to 10% off and pay by invoice — no prepayment and no minimum order value. For class sets and bulk orders, we prepare an individual quote. Tell us the class size and grade level, and we’ll work out the numbers for you.
Is there a free Arduino learning book as a PDF?
Yes. We provide an excerpt of our learning book as a free PDF — with the first projects, circuit diagrams and example code. The complete printed workbook is included with the Funduino Starter Kits.
Where can I find the guide and the workbook for the Funduino Cube?
You’ll find the soldering guide and the workbook for the Cube as PDFs in our guides section. Both are free and can be printed out for use in class.
From what age is Arduino suitable?
From about 12 years, i.e. roughly grade 7. If you want to start earlier, go for the Calliope mini: it’s programmed graphically and doesn’t require a text-based language. Moving from Calliope to Arduino afterwards is usually straightforward.
How much does a Calliope mini cost?
We sell the Calliope mini individually and as a class set. You’ll find current prices in the Calliope category — for class sets, it’s best to request a quote.
Can we pay by invoice?
Yes. Schools, universities and public institutions can order from us and pay by invoice. Delivery usually takes 1–3 working days from our warehouse in Nordhorn.
