Product description
This solenoid valve controls the flow of water, air, or gas through a 6 mm hose. When de-energized, the valve remains closed; applying 12 V DC activates the coil and opens the passage. When the voltage is switched off, the valve closes again automatically.
Operation requires a transistor or relay to switch the coil, as the current consumption of approximately 250 mA exceeds what a microcontroller's digital output pin can provide directly. The microcontroller then only controls the control signal. The nylon housing with an outer metal shell protects the coil and enables heat dissipation.
The valve is suitable for automated irrigation systems, aquariums for controlling water inflow and outflow, as well as model-making and DIY projects where smaller quantities of liquid or gas need to be controlled electrically. The permissible pressure range is 0 to 0.4 MPa, and the temperature should remain between 0 and 80 °C.
In addition to the valve, operation requires a 12 V power supply, a transistor or relay for control, and standard plastic hoses with a 6 mm outside diameter.
Safety information
The valve is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Observe the permissible pressure range of 0 to 0.4 MPa and do not operate the valve outside the temperature range of 0 to 80 °C. Work on the power supply or with mains voltages must be carried out by qualified electricians; if in doubt, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
