Product description
A UV sensor measures ultraviolet radiation and outputs the measured values as an analog voltage signal. The module detects both UV-A and UV-B radiation up to 20 mW/cm², responding to radiation intensities in the practically relevant range. The analog output of 0 to 2 V is connected directly to the analog-to-digital converter of a microcontroller board.
The operating voltage between 3 and 5 V enables operation with various electronics platforms without requiring voltage converters. The module continuously provides current measured values; calibration at startup is not necessary.
The sensor is suitable for outdoor UV monitoring, for example for warnings in the event of high radiation exposure, as well as for laboratory setups involving photochemical processes and sensor-controlled systems for UV curing applications. The module can also be used as a component in portable UV index displays.
Power consumption remains low, making battery-powered projects possible as well. A separate power supply is not required; the microcontroller board itself supplies the operating voltage. The datasheet provides all the necessary information on the output characteristics at different wavelengths.
