Product description
This extension cable connects a USB-A plug to a USB-A socket over a distance of 60 centimetres. It allows a sensor, development board, or other USB device to be mounted away from a computer or power supply, without the device having to be positioned directly next to the computer.
The shielding protects against interference that could otherwise cause data corruption with longer cables. The integrated mounting holes keep the cable securely in place instead of leaving it on the table, allowing it to be screwed to a wall or mounting plate. This saves space in the setup and protects the cable from damage caused by pulling.
In prototype setups with sensor modules or microcontroller boards, this provides greater freedom of movement, for example when a light detector or distance sensor is mounted at the top of a structure while the board operates below. Fixed stations with stationary sensors also benefit from the flexibility, as the devices can be logically grouped without having to be mounted physically close together.
The cable is compatible with any device featuring a standard USB-A socket and works with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports. Devices with a USB-C connector require additional adapters.
Safety information
The cable is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Do not use it for installation in the household electrical circuit. If you are unsure about the correct connection, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
