Product description
The dual-channel slide potentiometer, with a total resistance of 50 kΩ per channel, serves as a continuously adjustable voltage divider. Both channels operate independently, allowing two different output voltages or resistances to be set simultaneously.
The movable wiper divides the resistance proportionally according to its position. The output voltage can be continuously adjusted from zero to the full resistance value. The resolution is limited by the physical track and is not digitally quantized. When connected to an analog input of a microcontroller board, it enables precise linear measurement of the slider position.
Typical applications include brightness control for LEDs, volume control in audio circuits, motor speed control via PWM, and freely setting measurement or threshold limits during measurement operations. In interactive prototypes, the two channels allow two axes or parameters to be controlled without switching.
Operation requires only a power source connected between the outer terminals; the wiper is connected as a tap to the measurement amplifier or analog-to-digital converter. The potentiometer's service life depends on the quality of the wiper contact; frequent position changes are unproblematic, and wear only occurs after tens of thousands of cycles.
Safety information
This potentiometer is not intended for use in household electrical circuits. It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Before contact with mains voltage or use in circuits with high voltages, all necessary protective measures must be clarified with a qualified electrician.
