Product Description
This color display is an OLED module with a resolution of 96 * 64 pixels, controlled via the SPI interface. The tiny display is suitable for portable devices, compact measuring equipment, and all projects where very little space is available for the display. Each pixel emits its own light, so no separate backlight is required; this enables deep blacks and a wide viewing angle.
In addition to the power supply, the SPI protocol requires four lines for chip select, data/command, reset, and the board's data output. This allows the display to be operated in parallel with other SPI devices without using up connection pins. The module uses 3.3-V logic; it cannot be connected to 5-V boards without level shifting.
The display is suitable, for example, for real-time display of measurement values in portable environmental sensors, as a status and error indicator in compact control units, or for graphical display of sensor data in miniature projects. With 65,536 colors, it can also display color gradients and bar charts without the need for dithering.
Operation requires a microcontroller or single-board computer with an SPI interface and 3.3-V logic. A library for controlling the display is required and is available for all common development environments. The display is supplied with pre-soldered pin headers and can be plugged directly into a prototyping board.
Safety Information
The display operates with 3.3 V and 3.3-V logic levels. It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, and is not suitable for installation in household power circuits.
