Product Description
This brushless motor is designed for propulsion in multicopters and racing drones. The 3100 KV rating means that the motor’s speed increases by 3100 revolutions per minute for every volt of input voltage. For example, with a 3 S lithium-polymer battery with a nominal voltage of 11.1 V, the motor would reach around 34,000 rpm at no load. This spins the propeller through the air, generating thrust.
The motor requires an electronic speed controller (ESC), which converts the battery’s DC voltage into three-phase AC for the windings and thereby controls the speed. The motor will not run without this controller. A 3 S battery capable of delivering at least 25 to 30 A is suitable for the motor’s current limits. The rotation direction is set to clockwise at the factory, but can be reversed by swapping two of the motor’s connection wires at the controller.
The motor is suitable for light to medium-weight multicopters with four, six, or eight propellers, as well as racing drones with a frame size of approximately 250 mm or larger. It can also be used in electric-powered model aircraft and similar flying vehicles.
To operate the motor, you need a compatible ESC module, a lithium-polymer battery (2 S or higher), a battery charger, and a propeller with a matching bore. The maximum current draw of approximately 30 A puts considerable strain on the battery under load. Overloading can damage the motor and controller.
Safety Notice
The motor gets very hot during operation. Propellers spin at high speed and can cause injuries. Never put your hand near a running motor. High-voltage batteries (lithium-polymer) require careful handling and must not be short-circuited, overcharged, or damaged. This device is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, and is not intended for flight in populated areas. If you are unsure about the power supply or safe integration into an aircraft, consult a qualified electrician before first use.
