Product Description
This controller drives brushless DC motors with up to 12 A peak current and controls motor power via a PWM signal. It works with lithium-polymer batteries from two to six cells, covering a wide operating range at voltages between 7.4 and 22.2 V. Current control is handled within the controller itself, eliminating the need for external current meters in typical applications.
The PWM input signal comes from an RC receiver, a microcontroller, or a servo tester. The controller detects pulse widths between 1000 and 2000 microseconds and converts them into a proportional motor speed. If you want to adjust the firmware using a programming platform, you can configure parameters such as braking behavior and startup delay.
Its area of application includes fast aircraft models such as racing drones, where weight and space requirements must be kept to a minimum. The controller is also used in electrically powered RC cars with compact motors, for example in buggy classes with a total weight of up to 250 g. In larger systems, it serves as a backup controller for multiple motors, as its low no-load power consumption has little effect on the energy balance.
Required components are a lithium-polymer battery in the appropriate voltage class, a signal source for the PWM input, and a brushless motor rated for up to 12 A. The firmware is preinstalled, so special programming is not required, but it is optionally possible. The controller delivers up to 160 W of mechanical power and achieves switching frequencies of up to 32 kHz.
Safety Information
This controller is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits and is exclusively intended for prototypes, tests, and development purposes. Observe the correct polarity when connecting the power supply and motor; incorrect polarity can cause damage. When working on or directly next to the power supply, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning, especially when using voltages above 12 V.
