Product description
This LED combines color mixing and digital control in a single 8 mm component. The integrated controller enables individual addressing of LEDs via a single data pin, without requiring additional decoding circuitry. Each LED stores its color and passes the signal on to the next, allowing long chains without signal amplification.
With 256 brightness levels per RGB channel, more than 16 million colors can be displayed. The 5 V logic makes the LEDs directly compatible with common microcontroller boards. Because the design corresponds to the familiar WS2812 standard, preconfigured libraries work without modification.
Applications range from status indicators and effect lighting to educational projects with color gradients and patterns. Typical applications include ambient lighting in enclosures, LED strips for visual feedback, or small display elements in prototypes.
Operation requires only the data pin and a 5 V power supply and ground. Each LED can consume several hundred milliamps at full brightness and white. For long chains, a separate power supply is therefore recommended to avoid overloading the microcontroller. Control is performed using the usual development environment with adapted libraries.
