Product Description
This NTC thermistor measures temperature using a temperature-dependent resistance. The XH2.54 connector provides a secure connection to standard board connectors and eliminates the need for soldering. Its measurement range of −40 to +125 °C covers typical laboratory applications and mobile projects.
The operating principle uses the negative temperature dependence of resistance. The change in resistance is measured via an ADC input or an analog measurement circuit. Since the module does not include an analog-to-digital converter, one must be built into the target controller or added using a dedicated ADC expansion module.
Common applications include temperature sensors in portable devices, temperature alarm circuits, refrigeration and oven monitoring, and simple data loggers. To build such a circuit, a voltage divider with a known series resistor must be designed; the calculated voltage is then sampled.
A 3.3 or 5 V power supply is required for operation. The module itself supports both voltage levels. Measurement accuracy of around ±2 to 3 °C is possible with proper calibration, but requires mathematical linearization or a lookup table in the program code.
