Product description

Flexible LED pads with transparent rubber housings are used for decorative or functional lighting of objects and prototypes. The two light-emitting eyes per pad emit a diffuse glow and distribute the light over a wide area instead of focusing it. The elastic material adapts to curved or uneven surfaces and can also be mounted on moving components.

Control is provided directly via the two connection wires at 5 V logic levels, for example from microcontroller boards. A current-limiting resistor is required to protect the LED from overload. The diffuse emission characteristics eliminate the need for separate optical elements and simplify mechanical integration.

Applications include anywhere that moving or flexible lighting is needed: robots can be given expressive eyes that grow with the body; models and prototypes can be quickly equipped with indicator lights without having to design additional holders; the pads also adhere reliably to textiles or costumes thanks to their elasticity.

A power supply of at least 5 V must be available for operation. The brightness can be adjusted using PWM control. A circuit for current distribution is not included in the delivery.

Safety information

Observe the polarity: connect the longer leg of the LED connection light to positive and the shorter leg to negative. The pads are intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and are not suitable for operation in household electrical circuits.
