Product Description
The infrared sensor receives and decodes signals from IR remote controls and outputs them as digital pulses. The module operates at the standard frequency of 38 kHz and processes the modulated light signals using its integrated infrared receiver IC. The digital output directly provides logic levels that can be processed by a microcontroller.
With an operating voltage between 3.3 and 5 V, the module is compatible with common development boards without additional level shifting. The module indicates a received code through brief Low levels at the output, while High levels indicate that no signal is present. No calibration is required.
The sensor is suitable for remote-controlling robots, controlling home automation systems via IR remote controls, implementing custom control interfaces, and decoding various remote control protocols in prototypes. The sensor is typically mounted on circuit boards for control applications in which multiple buttons trigger different actions.
The setup requires a microcontroller with interrupt capability or an input pin that is read at regular intervals. The exact decoding of the IR code depends on the library or decoding algorithm used, as different remote controls use different protocols.
Safety Information
The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. It is not suitable for installation in household electrical circuits. If you are unsure about the correct wiring, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
