Product description
The infrared photoelectric sensor functions as a digital motion and presence sensor that reliably detects objects at distances of up to 1.5 meters. It uses infrared radiation reflected by obstacles and directed to the built-in sensor for detection. The range can be adjusted to suit the application using the integrated potentiometer, helping to prevent false triggers caused by excessive distances.
The module operates at 5 volts and outputs its detection signal as a digital level that can be processed directly by microcontroller boards. The XH2.54 3P socket enables a secure, plug-in connection without soldering. Multiple modules can be combined without additional wiring.
Typical applications include automatic door openers, motion detectors in prototypes, obstacle avoidance for mobile robots, and counting objects moving along conveyor systems. The photoelectric sensor is also useful for simple proximity detection in games or DIY projects.
A 5 V power supply is required and must be provided by the project setup or separately. No qualified electrician is required as long as work is carried out in the 5 V prototyping range.
Safety notice
This module is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits. It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. The infrared radiation is harmless to the eyes; nevertheless, you should not look directly into the sensor. A qualified electrician must be consulted when working on or near household electrical installations.
