Product description
A galvanic skin resistance sensor determines skin conductance using two electrodes, making emotional or physical responses measurable electronically. During emotional reactions or physical exertion, the skin exhibits a different electrical resistance, which this sensor converts into a measured value. The output signal is provided as a voltage and can be connected directly to the analog input of a microcontroller.
This sensor is suitable for biofeedback projects to monitor stress or arousal. Skin conductance is also used in psychological experiments to measure emotional responses and in sports applications to monitor exertion. With the Grove connector, the module can be connected to compatible boards without soldering, saving setup time.
The connected board's supply voltage is sufficient for operation. An analog input with ADC functionality and a Grove-standard connection are required. There should be direct, stable contact between the sensor and the skin to obtain reliable readings. If you are unsure about the connection logic or correct electrode placement, consult a qualified electrician.
Safety information
The sensor is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. It is not intended for installation in the household power circuit. For medical applications or if you are unsure about the safety of the electrode contacts, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
