Product description
This microcontroller combines an ESP32 Wi-Fi module with the mechanical and electrical pinout of an Arduino UNO R3. This design enables existing UNO shields to be used and physically integrated into existing setups without having to replace the board itself. The board uses a dual-core processor with a clock speed of 240 MHz and four megabytes of flash memory.
Power is supplied via a USB connection or a 5–12 V barrel jack. A CH340 chip converts the USB connection into serial data during programming. The 20 digital and 6 analog connections follow the UNO standard; however, the ESP32 pinout differs from that of classic 8-bit Arduinos, so software must be adapted for the new processor. Additional pin headers expose further ESP32 pins.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable wireless communication without separate modules. Sensors, displays, and other components can be connected via SPI, I2C, and UART. PWM outputs and interrupt-capable pins enable real-time control tasks. Typical projects range from sensor and automation setups to IoT applications and wireless data acquisition.
Programming requires the Arduino IDE with ESP32 board support enabled; alternatively, Facilino is available. The CH340 USB driver must be installed on the development computer. Since the ESP32 logic levels are limited to 3.3 V and cannot directly tolerate 5 V logic, analog inputs receiving 5 V signals require a level shifter or voltage divider.
Safety notice
The board operates with 3.3 V logic and cannot tolerate direct 5 V input signals. It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not designed for connection to the household power grid. When powering the board via the barrel jack, ensure correct polarity; if you are unsure about commissioning the board, consult a qualified electrician before starting work.
