Product description
This temperature and humidity sensor outputs both measured values via a digital single-wire protocol. This eliminates the need for an analog-to-digital converter and significantly simplifies the circuit, as the sensor uses a simple GPIO pin of the controller.
The design with three connection holes fits directly onto perforated circuit boards or can be plugged into breadboards using pin headers. With an operating voltage of 3 to 5.5 V, the sensor works with 3.3 V and 5 V logic boards without a level shifter. The accuracy of ±2 °C and ±5% humidity is sufficient for prototype room monitoring, greenhouse control, or storage climate monitoring.
The waiting time is important: There must be at least two seconds between two consecutive measurements; querying the sensor more quickly does not provide new data. The measuring range and delay limit the sensor to ambient temperatures without extremes. Operation requires only a power supply within the specified voltage range and firmware that processes the single-wire protocol.
Safety information
The sensor is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in household mains circuits. When working on or near electrical installations, a qualified electrician must be involved; consult a qualified electrician before commissioning if there are any doubts about safe use.
