Product Description
A step-down converter continuously reduces higher input voltages to a stable 5 V and distributes the power through two USB-A sockets. The module operates with input voltages between 6 and 32 V, making it suitable for various power sources, from individual lithium cells and automotive electrical systems to laboratory power supply outputs.
Each USB port supplies up to 3 A and can be loaded independently. The integrated protection circuits automatically interrupt operation in the event of a short circuit or overload without damaging the module. Resetting is performed by briefly disconnecting the power supply.
The module is suitable for mobile project setups in which USB devices need to be powered from battery packs or 12 V car batteries, as well as for laboratory and prototype setups that need to provide stable 5 V to multiple USB devices. One specific scenario is powering multiple sensors or microcontroller boards from a single 24 V laboratory power source without having to purchase a separate power supply for each device.
The connection to the power source is made via screw terminals rather than plugs, so the wiring is resistant to vibration and impacts. A suitably rated cable is required for the connection; its cross-sectional area depends on the planned current draw. An electrician should check the wiring if it is unclear which conductor cross-sections are permissible for the currents being used.
