Product description
The EC5 system connects two cable ends safely and without tools at high currents. It consists of a plug and a matching socket, each with two 5 mm-diameter gold-plated bullet contacts in a blue plastic housing. The asymmetrical housing prevents reverse polarity, so the two parts fit together in only one orientation.
The contact pins are soldered to the cable ends and then clicked into the housing. The plating on the contact surfaces keeps contact resistance low throughout the service life, which is especially important at high currents. With a continuous load of 90 A and short-term peaks of up to 120 A, the connector is designed for demanding power circuits.
In model building, battery packs, and drive systems, the EC5 connector is used wherever connections need to be disconnected frequently. Connecting lithium-polymer batteries to electronic speed controllers or chargers is a typical application, as is supplying power to electric motors in drones or RC vehicles.
Since the connector operates purely passively and contains no electronics, no signal processing takes place. It serves exclusively as a mechanical and electrical connection.
Safety notice
High-current connectors can cause dangerous arcs if handled incorrectly or if the contacts are damaged, so the plug and socket must be carefully connected. This product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in household electrical circuits.
