Product description
This chassis set forms the mechanical foundation for mobile robot projects with Arduino-based controllers. It contains the complete drivetrain with two geared motors whose speeds can be controlled independently, a prerequisite for steering movements and precise driving maneuvers.
The motors are powered by four AA batteries in the integrated compartment. The contacts are connected to the preinstalled terminals, which can be connected directly to an Arduino board or an intermediate motor controller. This setup saves wiring time during everyday project work.
The chassis is suitable for mobile robots designed to detect obstacles, follow lines, or respond to radio commands. Additional sensors such as ultrasonic modules or light sensors expand its functionality without requiring structural modifications to the basic frame. Additional modules can be mounted in the designated mounting areas for object detection or triggering tasks.
Operation requires an Arduino board, a motor controller for regulating the motors' voltage, and batteries. The motor controller is necessary because the Arduino cannot provide the required current through its I/O pins. Programming and sensor expansions depend on the selected controller board and the individual project objectives.
Safety notice
The motors draw significant amounts of current under load; a dedicated motor controller must be connected between them, as directly connecting them to Arduino pins will damage the board. The device is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in the household power circuit.
