Product Description
This signal generator produces acoustic tones when driven with square-wave signals. Unlike pure piezo elements, it uses an electromagnet to set a thin metal diaphragm into vibration. A pure DC signal remains silent, so a microcontroller output must provide an alternating signal to generate a tone.
The 5 V operating voltage is directly compatible with the logic voltage of common development boards. A single digital output is sufficient to generate tones of different frequencies, while the second connection is connected to ground. The two connection wires are not polarized, so an incorrect connection will not damage the component.
With dimensions of 12 * 9.5 mm and a pitch of approximately 7 mm, the signal generator plugs directly into a breadboard. This makes it ideal for quick prototypes, alarm functions in sensor projects, or simple acoustic feedback for errors and confirmation tones.
Operation requires a microcontroller with at least one available digital output and programming to specify the frequency. Solderless assembly with wires is possible.
Safety Notice
This component is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. It is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits or devices with mains voltage.
