Product description
The expansion module stacks onto Arduino-format microcontroller boards and provides all port connections as plug-in contacts. The soldered headers allow sensors, actuators, and additional modules to be connected directly without wire connections. The pin headers are breadboard-compatible, allowing individual components or prototyping boards to be integrated as well.
The shield provides continuous power rails for 5 V and ground on each side. This eliminates the need for distribution adapters and keeps the setup organized and stable. The power supply comes from the UNO board itself; the shield only passes it through. This allows multiple modules and sensors to be operated in parallel from a central power distributor, provided that the total current consumption does not exceed the UNO board's capacity.
Typical applications include prototypes with multiple sensors operating simultaneously, such as environmental monitoring or robotics projects where motor, servo, and sensor connections need to be consolidated. The shield also provides a stable platform for educational circuits, allowing students to test various components without soldering.
An Arduino UNO R3 or a compatible board with the same connector layout is required. The power supply provided through the shield is limited to 5 V; voltage regulators are required for components with other operating voltages. Depending on the design variant and power supply type, the shield partially covers the USB and power connectors of the main board. Sufficient clearance between the shield and the external power supply should be allowed for.
Safety information
The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and must not be connected to the household power circuit. When connecting components with higher current consumption, ensure that the total load does not exceed the available power supply of the UNO board; if in doubt, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
