Product description

A three-axis joystick detects movements in three spatial directions and is suitable for control tasks with differentiated input options. The X and Y axes detect horizontal and vertical movements, while the rotational axis detects rotation around the vertical axis. Each axis supplies analog voltage values between 0 and the operating voltage.

The joystick outputs voltage signals and therefore requires a microcontroller with integrated analog-to-digital converters. Three separate inputs process the signals from the three axes, while a fourth port reads the digital switching state of the button. The measured values enable precise control of motorized axes, robotic grippers, or other multi-axis drives.

Typical applications include operating robotic arms, calibrating multipoint measurements, or hands-free control of model vehicles and drones. The detents in the end positions provide feedback to the operator and prevent unintended overcontrol. Spring return to a center position with a resting offset facilitates central parking positions.

Connection is made via individual wires or a connector with at least four contacts for the analog outputs and the button wire. The operating voltage is typically between 3.3 and 5 volts; no external power supply is required. A development board with sufficient analog and digital inputs and a power source completes the setup.
