Product Description
This pin header provides 40 contacts in two rows of 20 pins each, with the standard 2.54 mm pitch. The black plastic housing is robust and ensures secure connections without insulation between the individual pins. The straight design enables direct insertion into breadboards, stripboards, or corresponding female headers.
The construction, consisting of brass contacts with a plastic carrier, enables reliable plug-in and solder connections. There is no insulation between the individual pins, so adjacent pins must be protected against unintentional bridging. The housing height also allows clean contacts even with dense component placement.
Typical applications include connecting microcontroller boards to shields or expansion modules, creating interfaces on custom-built circuit boards, or dividing signal groups in prototypes. This standard design is particularly useful in educational projects, eliminating the need for elaborate wiring.
The header is mounted by soldering it into stripboards or simply pressing it into breadboard sockets. Different pin counts or spacings require specialized variants; pin-header modules with integrated terminal blocks are available separately.
