Product Description
This relay board controls 230 V devices using a 12 V logic level from an Arduino or similar board. The relay is activated by a digital output signal and then closes a switching contact for the high-voltage side.
The optocoupler ensures that the microcontroller board's logic level is galvanically isolated from the 230 V side. This eliminates interference and significantly increases safety when working with mains voltage. It also reliably protects sensitive measurement or control circuits.
Typical applications include remotely controlling lamps, heaters, or fans via an Arduino board, automatically controlling household appliances in automation projects, or switching appliances on and off based on sensor triggers such as motion detectors or humidity sensors. Operating solenoid valves or stepper motors in control setups is also possible.
The board requires a separate 12 V power supply for the relay, which should not be supplied by the Arduino board itself. The switching contact supports up to 10 A, covering the connection of typical household appliances. Higher load currents require more powerful relays.
Safety Notice
This relay board is not intended for direct installation in household electrical circuits. It is intended exclusively for prototypes and testing and development purposes. Work on or immediately next to 230 V installations is reserved for qualified electricians. If you are unsure about safe wiring or before commissioning, consult a qualified electrician.
