Product Description

This programmer and debugger transfers firmware to STM8 and STM32 microcontrollers and enables code to be tested directly on the hardware. The connection to the computer is via USB, while the connection to the target device uses SWIM interfaces (STM8) or SWD interfaces (STM32). This means that the appropriate interface must be available on the target board and can be configured in the development environment.

The programmer saves the compiled code directly to the microcontroller's flash memory. This eliminates the need to rewrite it to external storage media and shortens development cycles when adapting firmware. Debugging during program execution is possible to identify errors in the execution.

Typical applications include control technology, for example when sensors and actuators are to be controlled via STM8 or STM32 boards. The programmer is also used when building custom control circuits or commissioning circuits with predefined hardware. Prototypes can be iterated more quickly when code changes are transferred directly to the board.

Operation requires a computer with a USB connection and an installed development environment that supports STM8 or STM32 (usually available free of charge). The target board must provide the corresponding SWIM or SWD connections; some boards already have these connections wired, while others require them to be soldered on first.
