Product description
This voltage sensor measures DC voltages from 0 to 25 volts and outputs the measurement result as a voltage between 0 and 5 volts. This allows it to be connected directly to analog inputs on microcontroller boards such as Arduino or to common single-board computers, without requiring a level shifter.
The sensor uses galvanic isolation via an optocoupler. This means that the measured voltage and the logic circuit have no direct electrical connection. As a result, there is no risk of voltage surges damaging the control electronics, for example when an inductive load is switched on.
Typical applications include monitoring batteries or power supplies, measuring voltages in charge controllers, or monitoring motor voltages in autonomous vehicles. For example, when building a battery management system, it can be used to continuously monitor the state of charge and trigger a shutdown if a threshold value is undershot.
A supply voltage of 3.3 to 5 volts is required for the logic side. In addition, measurement accuracy of approximately 2 percent is recommended, allowing voltage changes to be detected reliably.
Safety information
The module is not intended for installation in household mains circuits and is intended exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development purposes. Before taking measurements in 24 V industrial networks or on other live conductors, consult a qualified electrician. Work on or near electrical installations is reserved for qualified electricians.
