Product Description
This voltage converter reduces a 5-V input voltage to the 3.3-V logic required by many modern microcontrollers and sensors. It draws power via a USB connection and delivers up to 4 A of output current, allowing multiple power-hungry modules to be powered simultaneously.
The module operates using a switching regulator and is therefore significantly more efficient than linear regulators, as it generates less heat. This current capacity makes it possible to operate typical sensor networks, LED arrays, or small motor drivers without a separate additional power supply.
It can be used anywhere 5-V power sources need to be combined with 3.3-V systems, such as when connecting development boards from different generations, powering wireless modules from USB ports, or building prototypes that require multiple 3.3-V sensors in series. This eliminates the need for a separate level shifter when connecting individual 3.3-V logic outputs to 5-V inputs.
Operation requires an available USB port (Type-A or Micro). An additional power supply is required for loads exceeding 4 A.
Safety Notice
The voltage converter is not intended for installation in household electrical systems and may only be used for prototyping as well as testing and development purposes. When working directly on the USB power supply or in the event of a fault, consult a qualified electrician.
