Product description
A vibration switch detects mechanical excitation and initiates corresponding switching actions. Its operating principle is based on a spring-loaded contact system that closes the contact when the vibration amplitude is sufficient. This enables immediate action without delays caused by external evaluation.
The switch handles up to 220 V AC and DC, and the contact resistance is below 0.5 ohms, allowing loads to be controlled directly. Its robust mechanics make it resistant to dirt and aging. Sensitivity and response characteristics depend on design parameters rather than electronic thresholds that can drift over time.
The switch can be used wherever uncomplicated vibration detection is sufficient: for triggering alarms when doors or windows are shaken, initiating shutdown procedures for vibrating machines, as a fast feedback element in vibration measuring devices, or detecting unintended movement of permanently installed objects. For example, if a safe is shaken, the switch closes its contact and reports the vibration to a downstream alarm system.
The switch is connected via two solder pins and does not require an external power supply for operation. It contains no active components and therefore requires neither connection logic nor interface adaptation. In a project, the module can be wired directly to loads or logic inputs, provided they can handle the switching voltage and load.
Safety information
Work on or near electrical installations is reserved for qualified electricians. The switch is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, not for installation in household electrical circuits. When operating with voltages above 50 V or currents above 1 A, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
