Product description
The USB programmer connects a computer to FPGA boards to load configuration data onto the devices. The USB 2.0 connection allows designs to be written directly to flash memory or volatile configuration memory without requiring a separate power supply.
The device uses the JTAG protocol, the industry standard for programming processor and logic ICs, and can therefore communicate with any FPGA featuring a JTAG interface. Configuration files can be reloaded immediately after design changes. Programming requires only the USB cable and the appropriate development environment on the host computer.
The device is used for FPGA prototyping, rapid testing of logic changes, or programming configurations in low-volume production runs. Hobbyists and students use it just as developers in small and medium-sized teams do.
Connection is made via the target board’s JTAG socket. Incompatibility occurs only with FPGAs from other manufacturers or proprietary interfaces that do not comply with the JTAG standard. Use requires a compatible development environment on the PC.
Safety information
The device is intended exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in the household electrical circuit. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians; if you have any questions about the power supply or grounding, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
