Product description

This dual potentiometer offers two independent 20-kOhm resistors in a slide configuration. Each channel functions as a voltage divider: the reference voltage applied between positive and ground is divided according to the slider position and tapped at the output. The output value changes linearly with the position of the control over the full 30-millimeter travel.

Both channels operate independently and can each be connected to a separate analog input of a microcontroller board. This makes it possible to simulate a joystick or adjust two different parameters simultaneously. Alternatively, both outputs can be connected to one input when they are active in parallel; in this case, the voltages overlap. There are no interactions between the channels, as each operates with its own voltage divider.

Typical applications include audio devices with two controls for volume and tone, automated guided vehicles or robots controlled using two sliders, and test setups requiring two variable voltages. The 30-millimeter travel enables ergonomic operation with a finger or thumb.

Stable reference voltage is required for operation, typically 5 V or 3.3 V, depending on the microcontroller board. The accuracy of the value depends on the resolution of the analog-to-digital converter; resistor tolerances and wear from frequent sliding may cause deviations.

The potentiometer is intended exclusively for prototypes, testing, and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in household electrical circuits.
