Product Description
The temperature sensor measures ambient temperature via digital I2C communication and sends the recorded values directly to a controller board. The component operates from −55 to +125 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for indoor environments as well as extended outdoor applications or use in refrigerated areas.
The measurement result is available as a 13-bit value, enabling a resolution of 0.0625 °C. The I2C bus allows up to eight such sensors to be connected to the same two data lines without occupying additional pins on the microcontroller. The supply voltage of 3.0 to 5.5 volts makes the module compatible with common 3.3-V and 5-V boards; a level shifter is not required.
Typical applications include climate control, data acquisition for laboratory measurements, and temperature process monitoring. For example, a laboratory system could place several sensors in different areas and collect their readings on a central board, while the low power consumption of 250 µA during active operation enables longer measurement cycles without significantly draining the battery.
The module is supplied without a power connection or pin headers. Operation requires a suitable controller board with an I2C bus and an external power supply. Calibration is not required.
Safety Notice
The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in household electrical circuits. Consult a qualified electrician when working on or near electrical installations.
