Product Description
The vibration sensor functions as a mechanical switch that responds to shocks or changes in tilt. Two internal contacts close when a set threshold is exceeded and open again as soon as the movement subsides. The switching threshold is calibrated at the factory and requires no adjustment before operation.
The sensor is connected directly to a digital input of the microcontroller or board, with an operating voltage between 3.3 V and 5 V. This allows it to be used with current circuit boards without level shifting. Power consumption is minimal, as a signal is only present when switching.
Typical applications include detecting vibrations in running motors, triggering alarms in response to shocks, or detecting changes in position. For example, it can be used to monitor a system that is intended to respond to unexpected movements of an object or machine, or it can be integrated as a simple motion detector in prototypes.
The sensor requires only two connections and no additional electronics. Please note that the switching threshold is fixed at the factory and cannot be adjusted via software. This sensor is not suitable for applications that require variable sensitivity.
