Product description
This stepper motor with an integrated T8 lead screw converts rotary movements into precise linear movements. The two-phase system and 1.8° step angle provide a resolution of 200 steps per revolution, which translates into 0.01 mm positioning accuracy per step with the 2 mm pitch.
The motor can hold loads of up to 400 g against gravity or lateral forces thanks to its 0.4 Nm holding torque. Operation requires a voltage supply between 4 and 12 V, with higher voltages resulting in faster movements. A driver circuit for controlling the two phases is required, such as StepStick or A4988 modules.
Typical applications include 3D printer axes, automated laboratory equipment, and positioning platforms. The combination of lead screw and stepper motor is particularly suitable for projects requiring repeatable movements without feedback control, as the motor maintains its position even when not powered.
Operation requires a control board for phase switching and a regulated power source. Linear movement speed is limited to approximately 50 to 100 mm per second, depending on the power supply and load. Faster or heavier movements require a more powerful motor.
Safety information
The motor becomes hot during operation; beware of burns during extended use. This product is intended exclusively for prototype assemblies and testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in the household mains circuit. Consult a qualified electrician when working on or near electrical installations.
